About Me

World Pulse embodies my deepest hope and fiercest dream that global transformation is not only possible but is manifesting and multiplying...through the power of global women leaders voicing change. The Vision Mentoring process has been profoundly transformative in breaking the top/down notion of mentor as "power bestowed" to "power from within". Each mentoring partnership has a kind of alchemy. The brilliance and heart of the VOF leaders and mentors combined with the reicprocal learning in the virtual community transmutes powerlessness into tangible positive impact.

For 30 years I have been working with leaders in the private and public sector to awaken leadership potential: to be self aware, explore and reduce our biases, be empowered, connected, empathic, inclusive and vision driven. Many people have asked me over the years, "isn't it naive to think leaders can really live these ideals?" I believe more than ever from a pragmatic, grounded assessment that we will not survive as a species if we do not. In World Pulse, I found a home. To me, World Pulse provides the sanctuary and the living community to create this new story together...our stories humanize our complexity and paradoxes within, they show that in spite of tremendous barriers, breakthrough change is possible. They move us beyond "us and them" to find the dignity of our shared sufferings, outrage, silencing, marginalization and pain..to be the counterpoint, to stand up and say yes to what is inspired, just, courageous. Because of every women's story expressed here I feel stronger and more determined to be the counterpoint to despair or powerlessness. Whether I am working with an academic environment, or a business, a non profit or being part of the board at WP, the inspiration I carry gives me more courage to name what matters. In standing on this sacred ground, I am grateful and fiercely committed to expanding our reach, access and impact for the widest global embrace possible. What sustains me: My son and extended family that is a global community, Marthas Vineyard, peace building, addressing unconscious bias, loving convergent innovation and social entrepreneurship, practicing perennial wisdom practices and "staying joyful in spite of all the facts" to quote the poet Wendell Berry.

My Vision

World Pulse's virtual community encircles the planet with access for every girl, woman and man who seek equality, justice and safety to have their voices and visions realized!
