Kenya

Hello,
I am writing this Memo with Pride to be a today 'Kenyan'It was our dream and wish that we walk a mile away from ethnicity and I am applauding all my Kenya brothers and sisters that we have made it.Everything is counting on time, this time we introduce ourselves as Kenyans. The whole World expected a fight to erupt after the announcement of the Presidential winner;;'things went on as not expected.Petition was filed in the Supreme Court and still Kenya was calm,;nobody expected a peaceful Kenya after the judgement;;;'The out come was received with patience,I saw it as a Spirit of Doom who wants blood ,but the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ covered my loving Country Kenya,Peace was preached and love was restored. It is very painful to remember what really happened in the year 2007-2008,this moved me to find the cause which I am running.I refused to let the children left orphans in my Community to be taken to in displacement camps. So many people did not believe that I could take care of them in the home. The camps were terrible with no proper toilets,no clean water and sexual abuse was the order of the day.I discovered that there are no friends in reality. My friends whom I thought could hold my hands were only supportive in my eyes, but at my back they were scornful and wishing me hell. They went on passing legends from door to door asking people not to give me hands in feeding over 70 children who were in my home. Here the kids have to take breakfast, lunch and dinner, they have to be taken to the hospital and thy have to be washed and have to put on clothes, shoes and live like any other child around the world. The little money I had got spent and life had to continue,so what could I do next?I thought very fast and saw what I HAD IN MY HANDS,;I sold my Parcel of Land which I could turn to when I retire,!!!later on when this amount was also gone,I turned to my car and sold it.!!!!The few friends who were genuine were very supportive though they are poor and Widows I really appreciate them.We sat down and registered a supportive group known as Ket Wangi Widows and Orphans Women Group. We agreed that these children were not to be kept in the home without getting Education.I registered the home as an orphanage and a school.I went back to Mombasa where I work as a Nurse, the women went on contributing their services and what ever they could get from their farms and any penny they had.IT WAS DIFFICULT AND I NEVER SMILED A REAL SMILE; .Time to time I was thinking about theses children and I discovered something in me which I did not know I had,;this was Faith, the most powerful innermost being in a searching soul.I agree with God ,'He strongly talks of Faith and he has confidence that when you have Faith you would always sail,it is an Adventure and a long one,you have not to say''I am tired''If you speak the word out then you will never arrive at your destiny.!! ! I never accepted defeat. One day I received a phone call that the children had nothing to eat and the shops which could give my Women group ticks to move on refused that we have to pay all our debts first.I did not have money and being a mother I really felt a striking pain like a child bearing labor pain.I prayed to my God and spoke back to him his word, that with him I AM STRONG AND I SHALL NEVER LUCK!!!!I went to a friend who gave me some money which I had to pay back with interest, the interest multiplies so fast that up to today I am still paying.I had given a small farm which I was left with to the group to grow sugar cane and at harvest we could get some money to help in support of these children.I have always been a member of The Kenya Women Finance Trust and I applied for a loan to help me carry on.The Government Officers were on my neck as I had not met their requirements in the home and school, but my Faith held me in arguing myself out before them.As a learned Woman I have been very proud to lie low and be a beggar, here I had to beg,the Teachers have to be paid and other staff, the home has to be run with cleanliness and here I have nowhere to take this children to,their both parents are dead,.I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and started walking with him, walking with him took me to where I could meet his Angels who helped me roll the heavy rock which was blocking rest to these children!!!One weekend I went to the Beach to have a soda and see how faithful God is with his creation, here I met a couple from the UK and they were friendly and we shared much.In a long conversation they disclosed to me that they were running a Charity in Mombasa and I also told them about myself and the Charity I am running in Kisumu. They promised to find somebody in the UK who could help and give me a guideline to how the charity could get help. They went back and were writing and one day the Dream became true.!!!!! God heard my prayer and Answered me.Today I have a Registered Charity in the UK known as FRIENDS OF KET WANGI ORPHANAGE.Find them in their website;;-Friends of ketwangi orphanage. and you can also find them- T4AFRCA and at http//ketwangiwordpress.com.
GOD IS GOD!!!!!Amen!!!!!
