Introducing myself and my journal: Inclusive Era

About Me:
We only think of ourselves we do not think of the effect of our actions and words on others but the only way er can find true happiness is to DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE OTHERS TO DO TO YOU!

I am journalist by training (was trained at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism) however my journalistic training does not end with reporting what others have or are doing rather it starts with shaping the world, setting the agenda that will include everyone in development process.

I left the newsroom to the advocacy after some years of service. My advocacy is geared towards increasing the understanding of people on the need for inclusive practice especially as it affects persons with disabilities.

Although I am not a person with disability but I am married to one and not by accident. Being married to him means i am affected by the discrimination, inaccessibility, stigmatization etc.
I read different message as I introduce my husband as a blind person: some are pity (eya!!) suprise (woow!!) disgust (kai!!!) etc.

As a result I can not afford to sit and watch believing all will be well. we have to tackle the issue from the root.

The root is that we have not come see all see human equal creatures of God. Some believe they are better than others because the environment favors them well.

God never creates anyone as living with disabilities or inabilities but we are all created with alternative abilities.

From my journal you will get insights to how exclusivity leads to underdevelopment. the underdeveloped country are countries that do not put everyone in consideration when planing infrastructures and services.

My Passions:
To see persons with disabilities especially women have equal access to infrastructures and services for development

My Challenges:
Poor understanding of disability issues, shortages of resource; human and material to increase the awareness and understanding.

My Vision for the Future:
A world where all persons inrrespective of their abilities or disabilities have equal access to resources.
