MY VISION FOR TOMORROW!!!!

I sat in my office corner staring out into the small greenish farm around and thinking of what I had always envisioned for my life, community and world. Wow!!! I had a difficult phase of growing up as a female and had to try so hard to show I had some thing positive to contribute to my community and society at large. With the training I got from GPI and encouragements from online communities like WorldPulse I will continue to make sure this change happens come to reality.

I envision a world where every girl born is celebrated with as a human being that has lots of potentials and talents that will contribute to the positive development of our society.

I will continue to be part of the change making process to see a world free from gender based violence, every girl treated with equal respect and given equal opportunity to develop into a health adult with sound mind and critical consciousness.

I see my village free from teenage pregnancies, early marriage and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). I see young girls filled with information about their sexuality and how to resist/refuse early sexual activity as well as be able to negotiate for protection when they decide to be sexually active. I see active girls and women informed about their rights and are playing active roles in community development and our males folks are not intimidated by their actions rather they work together as partners and equals in a team of nation building.

I intend to continue in every way I can to develop Life Management and Leadership Skills of young girls with more focus on girls in the rural areas as they are the most affected by poverty and illiteracy hoping that this training programme will assist them as they grow up.

I want to be a Voice of Our Correspondence as this training will give me an opportunity to tell the world our stories the way it is. Express the feminine part of us with strength and vigor. Tell our story of achievements, challenges and hope for tomorrow. This training will assist me translate into good write ups the activities that young girls in GPI share and are able to achieve with their training re-emphasizing the positive things girls and women offer in community development. I will be a Voice to roar and roar loud in writing the folks songs and tales of women and bringing to reality our saying “When you educate a girl, you educate the nation”. The training will create a platform for me to share and interact with other young women around the world, share in their dreams, their achievements, their challenge not just as human being but as women and together share how we can conquer them.

I believe this programme will be a wonderful in enhancing my writing skills and inspire me to use my passion to tell our story our won way!!!
