POLLUTION

POLLUTION

As a youth I had lectures on pollution
Today an adult, I still hear about pollution
This time though in a broader spectrum
With the age of a new millennium

Natural occurring substances or energies are pollutants
In excess of natural levels considered contaminants
To living things it causes harm and discomfort
Or damage the environment for human comfort

Categorized as point and non-point sources
Pollution, undesirable waste products from human consumption and other sources
Pollution control a term in environmental management
Adopted from official acknowledgement

Aspects like agricultural activities, industrial production
Not leaving out mining and transportation
Accumulate or disperse and degrade the natural environment
Thereby causing havoc on the environment

In the hierarchy of pollution controls
Pollution prevention and waste management are more desirable controls
We need to curb water, air or soil pollution
Conserve our forest; prevent soil exhaustion and coastline degradation
