NLK women Digital Literacy



NLK train Women Living with HIV/AIDS in digital Literacy. In addition the training program targets other vulnerable women, girls and OVC participants who may not have been diagnosed or chose not to disclose status. This to reduce stigma and increase opportunities improves positive impacts and sustainability.
The Digital Literacy training is based on the standard with a qualified trainer accountable to the NLK’s management. The training program primarily carries out Basic computer courses consists of Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, Microsoft access and internet usage for three months by a qualified trainer. The program approximately train 100 to 150 target women and provide employment opportunities as well.
To avoid the low placement rates of the target graduated women, NLK promote individually operated internet cafes while generating employment opportunities with leading computer service firms
NLK Link the Digital Literacy skill training to pre-identified employment opportunities through continues labor market assessments and identifying leading computer service firms and internet cafes with growing demand for labor and strong growth rates in the target communities.
The program has successfully trained more than 200 of the target women, girls and children. Currently, these trained target groups have been able to benefit opportunities pertain to digital access whilst able to generate income in either ways of the above mentioned strategies.
