In Solidarity we will stop COVID -19

The Ethiopian total population reached now over 100, million . women account for more than 50 % of the population. We deeply appreciate our current government of Ethiopia and other opposition parties for the prompt actions they are taking to prevent the COVID_ 19. Along the appreciated effort of the government,' the civil society organizations including my own organizations  are very busy working in the target community to stop further spread of the virus . In Ethiopia, according to the up to date confirmed cases reached to 16 of them reported two deaths so far. As community based non profit organization and the entire country,

The Ethiopian people are potentially endangered at risk of contracting the virus due several reasons.

Among others, we are very group/ collective social culture. Social distancing is new order and hard to practice.

Second,  hand washing is not established norm, and unfortunately most our grassroots communities are low income peoples are not be able  to afford even for soap and other basic protection hygiene products fore every day things enable them to protect oneself against contracting the virus.

Third, imagine how it will be more difficult to manage over 100, 000, 000 people who have background  constraints aforementioned.

Regardless of all vivid challenges we feel more sense of commitment as organization and individual to protect our own self, families, elderly, women, children and all members of our communities at grassroots through building of awareness and support and provision basic protections goods and maintain of practical behaviour /habits against contracting the Corona virus(COVID)_19. Currently, implementing the following activities:

Hand hygiene

 Before and after preparing food ;

Before and after eating

After using the toilet

After coughing /sneezing into tissue (or if non complaint with respiratory etiquette

After handling body fluid contaminated waste or laundry,

Whenever hands looks dirty

Cleaning the home and co-living settings Cleaning public spaces :

Cleaning public spaces :

Introducing and practicing appropriate Social distancing measures

Encouraging the community  to develop protocols for cleaning public spaces as they are currently do not have an established cleaning routine.

Nonetheless, this not we can do alone with  Ethiopian Economy, Ethiopia is developing country, yet millions of its citizen's particularly are under poverty Line. Therefore the collaboration and solidarity of international donors and community will deem necessary, in this accord, therefore, Your possible support will be highly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your in solidarity with our grassroots

Women, Grandmothers and Children  ;and general members of our grassroots communities of Africa/ethiopia against COVID-19
