Gender and MDG

Millennium Development Goals - how far we work from gender aspects...?

Gender and MDG

I found there is misleading information on MDG 3: Gender equality in education and labour only; while Promoting women's empowerment and gender equality is central to ather aspects, such as: poverty, hunger, especially to maternal and child death... etc...etc...
It seems there is mixed up understanding in the indicator of the MDG3; which actually meant for relationship between education and labour/job of the women to other outcomes.. Mothers who have higher education interfered the maternal health and children health, nutrition etc; so as the income/money they have... This is bargaining power... And there are more other gender aspects...
FYI, many women are now having HIV/Aids are housewives...! Facts are showed from Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh and also from Indonesia. In Bangladesh, a moslem country In South East Asia; there are escalating harrassment to women and girls. In India in the areas where women have higher education compared to other areas; more violence against women is found...

I heard that UN Women is now working starting 1 January 2011 hopefully to tidy up also this matter. There is oversimplified gender; which apparently pushing away the gender aspects from any other MDGs...
I just hope in the next data collection (census or surveys); there will be gender aspects (the real ones...please;); so that gender could be showed by the integrated process or not integrated in various living aspects...

There is no wrong time to do the right things!
Let's catch it up....
Have a blessed day!
Greetings to Gender Harmony!
