WEB 2.0-A Transforming Power

The most exciting thing about this New Age of Information Technology or better still the computer age has been the creation of Web 2.0 which is not only a blessing but a great benefit to humanity because of the power of information, networking and meeting great people you never thought you could meet. It has equally been helpful in bringing both online and offline opportunities closer to one and therefore closer to a ‘bigger picture’ we hope for and desire most to transform ourselves. To me, it is a very important and useful platform to greater dreams and achievements and a force to reckon with.
It is vehemently a forefront media of solution to Women’s Empowerment Movements around the world and greatly inspires women issues. From my own perspective with Web 2.0, I will say it has been a helpful link for my voice to be heard. Before I became a member of the World Pulse Community in 2011, I had been writing articles which highlights mostly women and I always desired a platform where I could share my stories and make my voice heard, then I met a friend online on face book who is equally a member of the World Pulse and she advised me to join World Pulse where I could share articles. I took to her advice and then I met great minds and wonderful friends who inspired me with their works like Valeria, Leina, Stella Paul, Lea and many more and then we kept sharing ideas, experiences and opinions which have also made me a great thinker. Furthermore, as a gender and development research student, with the help of web 2.0, I found this forum one day while online on a Women’s Leadership and Empowerment conference to take place in BangKok, organised by the Tomorrow’s People Organization-an International NGO and I wrote something concerning women and I was selected to attend this conference sharing more of my paper and then it was published. I just want to say thanks to web 2.0 .
My opinion with web 2.0 is definitely seen as a tool that is and can be empowering because it connects me to unique opportunities to learn, interact and share ideas with the most innovative, educational and entrepreneurial minds by bringing together young prospective and future leaders as well as experienced professionals and social workers from different parts of the world on this same platform. That is web 2.0 for me.
