Sexual Violence has Quadruple in Dadaab Refugee Camps.

In the recent security threats in Kenya dadaab, refugee’s women bear brunt of sexual violence, brutal attacks and murder. Every night more than ten women and girls were being gang rape by gun men. It's unacceptable and unbelievable, social fabric ripped apart in this emergency setup .Human rights violations has been extreme due to the increased insecurity, weak rule of law, lack of humanitarian access and corruption . The protracted camps have increased the risks of sexual violence among the vulnerable communities in Dadaab such as the newly arrived women and girls, minorities ,women living with disabilities and the host population.
The protection environment for refuges remains a significant challenge. Lack or limited governmental authority and near continuous conflict throughout many parts of the country, coupled with rampant impunity and recurrent environmental disasters have only exacerbated the already fragile camps, resulting mass rape looting and killings of innocent Refugees (men, women, boy and girls) .

I'm calling for Kenya Government, Aid agencies and international community to protect the refugees and act on their demand .

This clip is a demonstration of newly arrived Refugee women in IFO II & IFO III,the newly camps established during the mass exodus from Somalia during emergency of 2011 famine .Although it's in Somali language but their concern shed me tears.
