Wow! wow! the Nigerian Pulse Wire meet up was awesome and a success. It was amazing to finally meet all these beautiful women I had been interacting with on PW, to be able to put faces to names. A huge thank you to all those who graced us with their presence; Busayo, Oreoluwa, Bidemi, Kareen, Mmeyeyak, Oladiti, Celine, Theresa, Josephine, Vivian, Emilia, Dele - Ige, Salamatu, Rhoda, Makanjuola, Yahaya, Olojede, Uju, Princess, Ada and Chinenye.

We have just set the pace for other PW cities to follow as the pioneer PW group to meet. Like we agreed, we shall continue the discussion of the action plan via this forum and come up with one proposal.

Thank you Busayo for sharing your experience as a VOF correspondent, thank you Oreoluwa for that beautiful presentation, thank you Ada for fixing up the hall and making sure we started right on time and thank you Princess for hosting us, you are very gracious.

For those who could not make it, not to worry, this is the first of many meet ups to come.

Gracias!

The meet up was a success and i just want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to Princess for hosting us and others who were involved in the logistic.

Busayo thanks for sharing your experiences with us and to Oreoluwa thank you for an eye-opening presentation. Sisters and brother lets keep in touch because the challenge to solving our developmental issues as it affect the woman is enormous.

For us to really tackle these challenges we must be ready to make sacrifices, well with the kind of passion and drive i saw in us yesterday we would surely overcome these challenges.

Regards Salamatu

The meet up was indeed a huge success. I was so thrilled meeting my sisters at the pulsewire community in Nigeria face to face. Even though we are much more than the numbers who met for the meet up, I know the attendance will continue to improve as the meet up continue in future. I was actually disapointed that Olutosin and Ayobami was not in attendance. Hope they will be able to attend the next one, i would love to meet Tosin face to face and embrace her one day. I really appreciate those who could make the meeting especially Kareen who came all the way from Portharcourt, I was dazed when she appeared in the meeting, I know how much i struggled and the amount i spent to come just from Ife. Therefore i can imagine that Kareen would have spent so much money to come from Portharcourt that is about 800km to Lagos. I also want to appreciate Princess who provided the venue for the meeting. Let me also appreciate Celine who insisted hosting the four of us that came from Ife overnight in her home, Celine, you are so wonderful. Fatima, you are great for initiating this Meet Up. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

Saturday's meet-up was a great success. Not only were there many members (and non-members) who turned up, but the event started pretty much on time (a feat considering the concept of African time that ensures that events start no less than one hour late)!

I loved meeting everyone and kudos to Fatima, Jade and the World pulse team for organising this event. I've posted some photos from the event on W.TEC's online album: http://bit.ly/bMexAH

I look forward to future collaborations with you all.

Stay blessed, Ore

The event no doubt was a success. Thanks to Fatima for wonderful coordination, to Princess for hosting all of us (luck was on our side as NEPA was gracious), to Chidinma for logistic support.

Meeting face to face with every one made the get together so interesting. Oreoluwa and I could not place where we met before. I am sure it was a close discussion via the pulse wire and seeing ourselves, we just wondered,... Oreoluwa thanks for opening our eyes and throwing more light on the use and importance of ICT. Busayo/Makonjuola, Bidemi, ...I appreciate you all. The joy of hosting you good people in my little apartment knows no bounds. The inspiration is unquantifiable. Thanks to Jade who made it happen! I pray that Divine Foundation for Disabled Persons taps from the success story.

Kareen, how was your journey back home?

Peace to all of us. Celine.

Congratulations on a successful meet-up! It makes me smile to think of all you strong and powerful Nigerian sisters in one room together. You all inspire me to be the best that I can be so that I can serve my Cambodian community as courageously and with integrity as you do. Peace be with you all, Janice

What a joy it is to read the words of excitement from everyone who participated in this momentous event and see this beautiful photo of all the bold women who participated. I couldn't think of a more fitting place, or more powerful group of women (and men) to represent the first PulseWire meet-up... an example that will inspire and lead others worldwide to meet face-to-face and take friendships, lessons, cooperation and action off the pages of PulseWire and into an electric room of voices and embraces.

I cannot wait to learn more about your plans for action, and learn how I can support your growth as a group. Thank you for leading the way for our community!

And of course a HUGE thank you to those who helped organize... to Fatima our organizer and Master of Ceremonies, to Princess for graciously hosting the event and arranging so many details, to Vivian who supported the event and had the beautiful banner made, to Oreoluwa and Busayo who delivered the key note speeches which I heard were so powerful, to Celine who hosted Busayo and her husband and friends so graciously and also offered her space for the event, and to everyone who participated, who brought a friend to share World Pulse with, and who traveled to be there on Saturday - especially Kareen who I understand came on a very long journey to arrive in Lagos.

Lots of love, Jade
