Slow take-up of family planning advice in Garowe



A maternal health programme encouraging women to space the births of their babies is making very small steps towards influencing the decisions of families in Garowe.



In IDP camps on the outskirts of town, most women have between six and 10 children, despite the hard economic conditions. Mothers are commonly breastfeeding more than one child simultaneously.
