How I became a World Pulse Member

My name is Felicitas Ika Wung. I'm 22years old, an internally displaced person from Wum to Bamenda due to the ongoing socio-political crises in my country, Cameroon. For the past 3 years since the crises started, it has greatly affected my family and me particularly as the time I had to take to complete my studies has increased due to security challenges going to school.

I was opportuned to be registered by the Catholic women association (CWA) saint Kisito Catholic mission station atuakom-Bamenda for a seminar organized by an organization called Women Called Women Synergy For Environment And Education (WOSEE) Cameroon. In the seminar that ran for 2days, I learned how to produce seven different items namely; hard soap, powder soap, bathing soap, menthalantum, Vaseline, body milk and spaghetti.

This training session was organized particularly to empower young girls and especially single mothers. This was under the leadership of Madam Tarke Edith and Madam Ekitah Prisca. After the training, we were advised on how to maintain our environment because women play a great role in the environment due to their activities such as poor farming methods, waste disposal, to name a few.

Thanks to the world pulse Ambassador, Mrs Tarke Edith who told us about World Pulse which is a platform that concerns the girl child and women in general. I was then inspired to join and she helped me register. That is how I found myself into inspiring platform.

Right now, I'm doing a business plan to engage in the production of powder soap and body milk. I believe this will improve on my status. Thanks to WOSEE Women.
