The silence in my voice

There is a difference between what we know and what we experience.in other words we locally call it "realities in ground zero". A lot goes on around us but no one has the courage to say anything. The case of the anglophone crisis in Cameroon is getting worst day by day. We are so much in confusion .we are targets on both sides. As a woman harassment from military ,fear of being associated to military and government by the separatist fighters and worst still we fear our neighbours . because we don't know on whose side they are, fear of being called a sellout, betrayer or informant. With all these my voice is suppressed .I can't talk .Oh God have mercy. The violence is too much on men and women. Any man is seen as a potential separatist fighter and face harassment and arrest .

Meaningful inclusive dialogue between the 2 parties can bring a solution. International bodies should place sanctions on the country that will put pressure on the country leaders to take meaningful measures to end the crisis. Those arrested should be released unconditionally .freedom of speech should be allowed for people to share their painful stories and relief the stress. More women should be in leadership sensitive positions.

Peace in Cameroon is so important for the country's development and that of individuals. Peace is important for people to return to their homes. peace is important for emotional and psychological balance. We need forgiveness of each other to build a peaceful country for every Cameroonian.
