SAF-IWD 2018 (1/1)

Ahead of International Women's Day 2018, my team and I ( Smile-Africa Foundation) are collecting quotes from women and men alike on how they are working to break societal stereotypes and constructs of what women should be and cannot be.

We are also organizing a health and gender seminar for teenage secondary school females on the need to mind their body and become more mentally alert to it.

The quotes we have received so far has shown that women are becoming resilient and and are no longer going to hide behind the veils of 'Don't do too much'. We are happy as we realize that this year's hashtag #PressforProgress is actually a possibility and indeed women will achieve progress.

The quotes collection closes today.

Hi Francisca. Thanks for sharing your plans for IWD. It's great that you are gathering empowering quotes and doing this initiative as well as the mindfulness seminar that you mentioned. Looking forward to updates on how both of these went:-) Have a good one and good luck!

Hi Francisca,
What a great plan, to gather quotes under #PressforProgress. Such good news that you are seeing more resiliency. Good luck with your plan to meet with teenagers, too. It sounds wonderful. I am sure they will never forget the day. Happy IWD!
