Work is a major part of each individual's life, but life happens to every one of us both male and female. For women so many landmark events takes place to alter our life trajectory; marriage, childbirth and even our search for meaning. And they seem to always catch us by surprise because we don’t give much thought or consider how these things will affect us.
My aim is to create awareness about these life stages because life comes in waves, and each season is temporary, though hard, because they can shake our sense of identity. I want to help women articulate what it is they really want, what success means to them, to provide the information needed to navigate these stages, and to give voice to what gives value and meaning to each of us.
Also for youth, I want to assist them in all stages of career planning. In evaluating their interests, skills, and personal strengths to help achieve the personal understanding that forms the basis for establishing career goals and carrying out the decision-making process.
WHAT CHANGE DO I WANT TO SEE? I want women to see periods of change as a wonderful opportunity for growth and to be unapologetic about their lives. I want women to know that the best way to prepare for these changes is to proactively take time for self-reflection. i want women to see career planning as important and be able to access career resources and advice. Also, I want women to be financially independent, because without it women do not have a voice. I want to create a community of women who are willing to share stories of their journeys to purpose and financial independence through a call for stories and videos.
WHAT IS THE INCENTIVE When women share their stories, they inspire other women who are feeling hopeless to become hopeful and pursue their interests again. Whoever shares their story will gain more visibility and in turn might become an opinion leader.
EMOTIONS I want to create a feeling of power and pride about their accomplishments.
DESIRED OUTCOME That young women will see the need for career planning and not just leave it to chance. Also, for older women to see that it is never too late to want to have a life of purpose.
TARGET AUDIENCE Women – married or single and youth.
I hope this campaign will move people to action to send in their stories and that people will continue to share their stories via social media.
