Pretty fake promises

Dear ladies and gentlemen

" Don't hold on to the promises made by others "

I know their words might have sounded pretty. Their words might make you feel like there is a world where they would lend a hand when you are about to drown.

Guess what? They won't. Trust me.

At the end of the day you are all you have and if you're drowning, Take your safeguard before jumping. It's necessary to have a positive perspective on life. But it's equally necessary to not always expect the goodness of people. Look after yourself first. Because that's what they're going to do for themselves at the end of the day. So if you are someone who is sleeping in a bed or sitting on a couch and you are reading this. Thankyou, it means a lot. Now forget about them, Concentrate on yourself, Get up, Get to work, get things done, and when you look in the mirror every morning make sure that you are making yourself proud before anyone else.

PS When reality hits you it hits you hard (LOL)

Stay awesome ❤️

Soorya.

Hello Soorya,
How are you doing? And how are the special online friends you made over lock down?
You make a good case on the importance of being a good judge of character so that the people we make ourselves vulnerable and accessible to will not abuse our trust and treat us with treachery.

I am sure that we can all relate to the disappointment when someone we trusted went back on their promises and we had to make sudden adjustments to accommodate the situation. In a way, I feel the other side of your message is also encouraging us to grow into integrity and keep our promises, so that we are not guilty of the very thing we disapprove of.

If your writing is inspired by a personal experience where promises made to you were broken, I am sorry that you went through that. I am sorry that you were left out in the cold. And I hope that you can heal from that enough to still celebrate any good people left in your life.
I hope you stay sparkly :)

Hello, Soorya,

It looks like someone made a promise to you and let you down. That feeling is terrible. I know that, too, many times. On the other hand, I might have promised things to people that I have forgotten. How flawed we are.

This is a good lesson, though. To not expect much so we don't get disappointed. And if more will be given, then we can be grateful!

Thank you for sharing!
