Amidst the covid-19 pandemic, tech is life and life is tech

Tech is life and life is tech in the 21st century and amidst the global pandemic we are all battling with. 

My story with technology doesn’t go way back. It’s only been a few months since tech found me and I fell in love with the “Art” as I fondly call it. I think considering tech an art rather than a science, has helped me explore it with an open mind mostly because I come from an art inclined educational background.

Always an outstanding student growing up, I was a typical art student and dreaded anything or subject that had to do with the sciences and I made that clear by doing exceptionally well in my chosen field of studies.

I however got into the social sciences later on in my educational path only because I was told that it will be easier for me to land a job in a big company if I was an accountant or manager or any  other related trades. 

To cut the long story short, I got into social sciences for the wrong reasons and was never able to find my feet. I found myself struggling with even practicing what I had learnt in school and later quit to become an entrepreneur in the retail sector. 

When I was suggested to by my friend who found a passion in tech and was already deep into the tech world and doing amazing things as a GIRL to give tech a try, the thought of it scared me a little bit considering my phobia for the sciences and the stereotype that tech is a man’s thing but then the I CAN DO ALL THINGS mindset got the better part of me. I gave it a thought and then took the leap of faith. 

About six months down the line, here I am on the path to becoming an ethical hacker and a programmer.
I feel extremely  good and satisfied with  what I am doing and where I am going. I haven’t felt so settled in a very long time. Tech has been my source of information, and financial backing within this period, dealing with social distancing and self isolation. 

If I can do it, then tech is for everyone. In the 21st century, Tech is life and life is tech.
