Interview Story Angle

Dear all,
Its been great with the interview subject. For the first time on this journey, I have the opportunity to get to know a fellow correspondent better- her vision, dreams, aspirations and expectations etc through the interview.

Here are my views and my story angle as far as interviewing community women activists is concerned. At first I thought I could not get anyone to interview but then I was totally wrong! This was what I did. I asked myself two key questions:
Who do I want to interview? Why this person and for what issues? The names registered. The issues filled my mind. Read my thoughts:

-Bernice Akuamoah: a young woman activist and advocate for children, youth and women’s rights issues. Her experience as a young woman n working to contribute to a world fit for all especially children and women nationally and globally.
Through my interactions with her, I realized that maturity is not necessary age but one’s experiences, expectations and aspirations. What is more, if we all started as young women activist earlier, the world would have been a better and a safer place for women than now. That is one of the major reasons why I would be interviewing this young female activist who stands out because of her courage and charisma. Because of her voice and the changes she has made and keep making. I want to know her motivations, aspirations and expectations. What do you think friends? I just called her and she is ready to share with us.

-The second person I would like to interview is a woman activist working for United Nations Population Fund-UNFPA Ghana She works as advocacy and communication person for Population and Development at the UNFPA Ghana office. I would like to know about the issue of women and population. How population issues affect women’s development and her experiences have been over the years. What practical solutions she can give to all the nations of the world.

-The third person is Getrude Adzo who is working with the United Nations AIDS. (UNAIDS). I would like to interview her about the issue of women and HIV/ AIDS. What are her experiences working with and for women who are infected and affected with HIV/AIDS. What practical solutions and answers that need to be focused on as we strive as a continent to eradicate this fatal disease.

I need a lot of ideas and suggestions as far as my angle is concerned.i also want to find out if i am on track or not and what important issue or are i need to include. I hope to hear from you all as I have started writing to my target women activists for the interview.
With love and hugs,
Gifty.
