What made my day!

Dear all, i just thought of dropping these few lines to share with you what made my day today: World Pulse package.

As i walked along the streets of Accra today, i questioned myself about so many things, some of which are changes i want see in my country-transportation systems, better lives for women and children, girls eductation etc. I felt sad and tears threatened to pour out on my face this broad day light in a major street!!

When my World Pulse package was handed over to me at the post office i smiled and hurriedly tore the envelope. i gave a deep sigh of relief as i know that there is HOPE for me and my sisters in Ghana through Pulsewire/Worldpulse as we have an opportunity to increase the volume of our voices on issues that affect us; knowing that there are resources, support from a whole community interested in our welfare and development.

The Founder's Pulse "Our Oracle" was a ROYAL TREAT to read. it is powerful, touching, challenging, warming and one that gives courage, strength and hope for all children and women every corner of our world.

Gail Straub "Returning to My Mother's House" is soooooooooo BEAUTIFUL and i can't wait to start to start diving into and savouring its words, digesting its wisdom, strength and its power.

Ooops! the invitation cards are almost finished. The beautiful call cards is great.

Many thanks to all the WorldPulse team for the daily hard work, sweat, stuggle and the heat to help us create a world of possibility for women of today and tomorrow.

With Love, Gifty

I am glad your day was made :) I see that you are an advocate for girls: I am also that! It didn't start out that way (I always thought my vibe was more adults than children) but my journey has taken me to a place where I find my heart reaching out toward girls.

I would love to hear about what you are doing in your community to empower girls- perhaps we could swap ideas?!

Peace and love my friend,

Sharese

Sharess hi, it is amazing how visions and actions for possitive change meet across the oceans! i just read your profile and realised we have similar passion, challeneges and vision.

i am a memeber of a children/youth led group called Children and Youth in Broadcasting-Curious Minds (Amedia youth advocacy group) where we advocate for the RIGHTS children (boys and girls) through the media. We have weekly radio and TV programmes and Quartely National Youth Magazine.

I have been touched by the wisdom, courage and the visions/dreams of many young girls when i joined Curious Minds. I have alos been moved to ACT as i see the vulnerability and many girl lives (that is not different from mine own life ) that have been marked by poverty and illiteracy as a project faciliator for some of our Radio projects and programmes.

Personally, i have set up a foundation:GREIGHT FOUNDATION with the aim of empowering girls/women through mentorship and quality education. Today, they are gilrs but tomorrow they will be mothers, wives, presidents, ministers etc.

Greight Foundation is a baby but i have made some efforts in my desire to empower girls (and some boys) mainly through -Workshop trainings and supporting girls to go to school.

Currently i am mobilising funds from friends to pay the tuition of some girls so they can get to be in school. just click this link to read my Frontline Journal which captured my efforts to empower girls as well.

i would love to get ideas as what to do sustain the foundation and who we can bring on board.

I would also love to hear from you regarding what you are doing to empower gilrs and the adults in your communities.

Warm greetings from Ghana.

Love, Gifty

Busayo, Mine came as a small piece of paper from the post office. i had to go and claim the parcel with an ID + the notification from the post office.. the notice was on a small paper that anyone can easily miss it. You may want to check very well at the post. You may also want to cross check with Jennifer to see if you can track your parcel.

i can't wait to hear tll me how your package has added to your joy when you finally receive it. With Love, Gifty

I felt the same way when I got a World Pulse package in the mail. I had had a long and terrible day. One of those days that when you wake up in the morning you know that you should simply go back to bed because everything that can go wrong is going to. Well I didn't really have a choice so I went on with my day. When I came home I had a package from World Pulse waiting for me in the mailbox and it put a smile on my face, and made the rest of my day too.
