https://www.amazon.com/Diane-DeVillers/e/B00BWY3Q9K If you want to read a remarkable book about a self-reliant woman working in the Wallowa Mountains in eastern Oregon, doing timber inventory for the Forest Service. Down by Coyote Springs, the six foresters pitched their tents close to a water source which was also shared by the areas wild animals. Then  Eve moved to the Oregon Coast to take care of an elderly man who worked for Al Capone during the day. They are two different generations making adjustments to live together.

Many years later, a retired baby boomer living in Eugene, leaves her property and gardens in the hands of her friend Vinnie who lives on her property in a yurt. She goes every summer to spend a few months with a former lover who has a debilitating disease of Multiple Sclerosis. Vinnie is in love with Eve but remains silent.
