I am a woman....a confident one at that

Once upon a time, I lost my father at the age of 16. Trust me I was very hard for us, the shock had a great effect on us especially my mum because she never expected that to happen.
My parents run a medium retail business in the city where we reside. After the death of My father who was the sole proprietor of he business, many thought the business would collapse. My mum who had a little experience in business management could rise up to the challange immediately because she hunt recovered from the shock of his demise. As the 1st daughter in the family at 16 I us to rise to the challange of managing the business after high school while I waited for admission into college. As it is in the custom of the eastern region of Nigeria. Close family relatives wanted to take over the business saying I was a woman, my mother is also a woman and because of our gender we do not have enough knowledge to handle the business. It took a lot of fighting, arguments and meetings. We keep saying they should stay off , it as unthinkable handing over our family assest to someone else who didn't care about us, we say the possibilities of our dreams been dashed in the mud, dreams of going to college and becoming a world voice. Yes I, my sisters and my mother said no, we fought and we won. Today the business has recorded more profit each year than it did in the past. Yes I am a woman, a confident woman.
