Welcome Onboard!

Posted January 23, 2015 from Nigeria

I am excited to welcome you here! My name is Olanike Olugboji (Greengirl). I am the Program Coordinator of Women Initiative for Sustainable Environment (WISE). It may interest you to know that "being green is what makes me me!"

I am passionate and committed towards enhancing women's interest, knowledge, representation, participation and leadership in development, particulary in the natural resource sector . Accordingly, I find it essential using such an amazing and empowering social media platform like World Pulse to continue advancing my cause and also lending support to what others are doing to better our world.

Little wonder that I am thrilled about the launch of the Leadership Group! So many offerings centered around transformative leadership are in the offing and I am set to explore these opportunities alongside many other change makers and leaders from around the world. You inclusive!!!

It's a whole new journey of discovering our individual and collective leadership potentials and making the most of what is unraveled. Being a woman change leader, experience has taught me that no one will hand us (women and girls) leadership; we have to either earn or take it.

I am glad to share with you that I'm already walking on that path. As such, I see my role as a community champion as an opportunity to inspire and draw inspiration from other change makers/leaders like you; in ways that will be beneficial to our online, local, and global communities.

It makes a world of difference when we prepare and or postion ourselves to be and lead also the change that we seek. We can synergise by having powerful conversations that will uncover our hidden leadership potentials and launch ourselves as global citizens and leaders.

There is no doubt that when we synchronise our voices, it becomes louder and accomplishes more. Yes, it is possible for use our voices to create the reality that we want. To be a part of these conversations, you are welcome to check out, join and contribute to the leadership group.

Thanks for the welcome, Olanike. Your words are so true; no one hands us (women and girls) leadership roles, we earn it or take it. If it is handed to us, it is typically through other women who help other women. There is a common feeling among most women that transcends across all races and religions, which is empathy for one another as a woman, as we know how it feels to be unfairly treated. This is why many women when they get into leadership roles tend to help other women who have faced similar struggles in reaching higher heights. We each have a responsibility to help the next female leader, this advances society, families and communities.

I love and appreciate your line of thought. I very much agree with what you mentioned about how that the kind of prejudice women face or put up with breeds and builds empathy.

Thank you so much for shining light on what the world would be like when women leaders help themselves and other aspiring women leaders to rise. Without doubt, we could make our group a haven of such support. Together we will arise!

Loads of hugs and love to you.

Hello Olanike, and also to all the sisters who have written so far,

I am so glad to be able to be part of this leadership group, and look forward to ideas that we can generate together, on how to work together to nurture this increasingly fast-growing momentum that we are creating, for profound world change. Through the power of our joined voices, and through sharing so publically the information that we all have on the shameful violence against women that exists, I truly believe that we are creating a paradigm shift. Olianke, it is an honour to have you as our champion guide with this. You have reminded us through your wonderful posts, that as women we are here as stewards of each other, and also, interconnected and so importantly, of our precious Earth. I hope that as VDay and International Womens' Day approach once again, as well as the next United Nations Meeting, that we can brainstorm on what Global Action we can do this year. I attribute our current strength so much to this amazing WorldPulse site.

A loving embrace to everyone,

Tam

Dear Tam,

I am elated to connect with you in the leadership group. I believe you are an invaluable addition! Yes, everything we do in this group will be geared towards ‘creating a paradigm shift’. It is all about creating and championing and sustaining the kind of future we individually and collectively envision.

To say the least, I am deeply touched by your words of acknowledgement, motivation and support. I love that you are already stirring us in the direction of and also contributing ideas around the Global Actions that we can implement as we move on. You are obviously set to make difference! We welcome you!!!!!

Thank you for bringing on your unique capabilities, which I know we will all benefit from as a group and community.

With love and respect, Olanike.

Dear Debra,

Here you are! Its nice to connect with you once again, as I can never forget the opportunity that VOF afforded me to connect with you and also benefit from your expertise. You listened and encouraged me, and that certainly contributed in no small measure to my being selected as a 2014 World Pulse Live Speaker. Thank you!

I am humbled by your words and happy that you you'll be sharing your expertise with us as we journey on. Your guidance will come in handy!

Love and appreciation, Olanike.

I believe that what philospher/theologioan Hans Kung says is true:

“No peace among the nations without peace among the religions.

No peace among the religions without dialogue between the religions

No dialogue between the religions without investigation of the foundation of the religions.”

― Hans Küng, Christianity: Essence, History, Future

I have been invited to act as an ambassador to the Parliament of the World's Religions, in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA October 15-19, 2015 http://www.parliamentofreligions.org/

I have already been a listener, on a very small scale, for this organization. I would like to use my position as World Pulse listener to bring together the voices of women of religion and spiritual beliefs. I see this as an opportunity to bring these voices of women from 190 countries to the Parliament with me.

I would love for our leadership group to create a program and submit a proposal for a program to the parliament.  http://www.parliamentofreligions.org/index.cfm?n=35&sn=3

Thank you so much for being such a blessing upon our shared earth.

Yvette

Oh my God! Wowwwwwwww Yvette!!!!!!! I just saw this today, as i didn;t get any notification as used to be the case with the old World Pulse site. I will bring this to the notice of the World Pulse team.

I am so happy for you. Of course you earned and very much deserve your place at this all very important global gathering. You've certainly got what it takes and I want you to know that i will be cheering you on as I stand by to read your shares as events unfold at the conference.

Thank you so much for being willing to carry our group's and community's voices with you. I love the idea you put forward about our group creating a program and submitting a proposal to the parliament. I will set off to work by drawing the attention of everyone concerned (moderator and supervisor alike) to this.

You are an inspiration!

Love, Olanike.

) ? Jusqu'où êtes-vous allé dans vos efforts ?

Ce qui concerne très chaud, Olanike

Dear Olanike, Greetings to you and all she-earthlings on World Pulse. I am glad to join  this another WP journey, particularly because it is steered by you among those at the helm. I have the honor and pleasure of listening to your stories in the VOF stream in 2013. I remember how your passion for the environment often resonated deeply in me, and am proud that you were among the speakers who represented our cohort. Looks like this group is going to be another exciting, amazing and lesson-filled period of braiding together collective concerns.
