WIDOWS/ WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Handmaid Skills Acquisition Initiative, being a non-governmental organization, has so far empowered over six hundred (600) indigent widows and women.

Among our beneficiaries, we have a significant story, Mrs. Alice, a woman who became a widow at the early stage of her marriage, with three tender kids: seven, five and two years respectively. At the period she lost her husband in her thirties, she was demoralized, with no one to cater for her and her kids, as she had no job nor business to sustain her and her kids until she was found by Handmaid Skills Acquisition Initiative while we set out scouting for indigent widows to reach out.

She was enrolled on a free six months training on Catering and empowered with basic Catering equipment and materials. 

As a success story, she is currently self employed as she has a catering establishment.
