Sharing COVID-19 Impacts Beyond borders

Harriet Karen
Posted April 17, 2020 from Uganda

Having  been forced to halt all the activities at my work place,I decided to work with my team by organizing online sessions on current impacts of COVID-19,and how different communities/countries are responding. Participants from over 11 countries have participated overwhelmingly, in the discussions dabbed "Diversity & Inclusion sessions on: Impacts of COVID-19 on marginalized, vulnerable and stigmatized communities."

Together we are sharing feedback to document the possible current  impacts and post impacts of COVID-19,including how civil society sector ,Governments and other sectors should respond to avert adverse impacts!

We using the group to build our solidarity and share diverse stories of interest on the pandemic! And of course staying away from 'fake news'!

This story was submitted in response to Dispatches from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Hi Harriet,
How good to have news from you on how you are and on this collective work you have been creating. This is tremendous, and no doubt holds valuable information that can provide leadership as we all figure out what to do. It is your focus as a priority on the communities most in need of attention that is so good to see. I hope you will post ideas here as they form. It is time for our collective voices to steer our governments in the direction we have long known is necessary. Now more than ever.
