Educating Girls

Every year, Network for Community Development (NCD) www.ncduganda.org takes a step in improving lives of the communities we serve. In 2017, we put efforts on addressing sexual abuse and its impact on education of pupils in Uganda. From June 2017 to June 2018, we have recorded 119 cases of sexual abuse and unfortunately all the victims are girls.

The good news is with support from AmplifyChange, in a move to prevent sexual abuse, we are empowering young people with knowledge and skills to identify early warning signs of sexual abuse. Something more needs to be done to help the vulnerable girls in Ugandan communities access Secondary and Tertiary education.

NCD has a dream of supporting vulnerable girls in Mukono and Buikwe Districts of Central Uganda access Secondary and Tertiary education. We haven’t waited but started on this agenda, I have taken up a personal initiative to support one girl with school fees, but many more need our support.

Supporting one girl access education is a step in ending early marriages and enabling a young girl have a better future. I know together we can do more.  We have already identified 5 girls who need your support to stay in school. Your support can help us walk this Journey of Educating Girls together.

If you are interested in walking this Journey with us, please contact us on admin@ncduganda.org/ ncduganda@gmail.com

Network for Community Development (NCD) was founded in 2007, as a Non-Governmental Organization (S.5914.8016) dedicated to improving lives through providing appropriate training, management and evaluation of community based development programmes, undertaking participatory research and networking with various partners.

Our Vision: NCD envisions a society where the community members live an improved life and are involved in making decisions on matters that affect them.

Our Mission; To improve the lives of the poor and underserved communities in Uganda through capacity building, service delivery, information sharing, and advocacy.

How we work : We have an exceptional vision and direction. We don't impose solutions, but work with communities over years to strengthen their own efforts to identify solutions. We constantly seek new solutions that can make the greatest impact. NCD believes in people and their capacity to make a difference. We empower people by developing their potential to strengthen their own communities. We pursue this goal in a way that encourages innovation and leadership.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards
