Running for My Life Day 112

Two weeks ago, my wife and I scouted the road to Kiserian and I promised to attempt the distance in two weeks' time. Well, today happened to be the day, and of all days, it rained last night and it was raining when I hit the road at 5:15 am.

It was still dark, no one was on the road at that time save for the 3 boda boda guys I normally find at the Ololua Academy signpost. Met 3 more guys each carrying a flashlight, was all alone most of the time. I usually have my water break at Tuskys Matasia but today I decided to have the reward at the Kiserian/Ongata Rongai junction. I saw a guy running towards Kiserian and was relieved to discover the guy wasn't jogging; he was wearing gumboots and a lime green hoodie.

It says on Google maps that distance between Ngong Town and Kiserian is 13K, due to the rains, mud, rain water and being up the hill all the way, became longer by the minute.

In the end, the run tested my will power, endurance and mental strength. It was hard, painful and can no.longer be sustained by water alone. I need an energy drink, perhaps Lucozade.

"I did it!" I screamed when I reached home, barely able to stand on my feet.

"Yay! Tell me all about it," the Coach said.

Well, this is comeback post after taking a short break to have surgery and run in my first fundraising half marathon.
