Dear Woman: You are love and light

My vision for a post-pandemic world is not only where women matter but also where they know, feel and understand they are enough just the way they are.

The past years have taken away the lives of many young women in my society who perished under the surgeon's knife, which is not to remove an appendix or .....

But to get some sort of body modification; either a butt job, a boob job or something similar.

I find it quite unfortunate that social standards of what beauty should or should not affect women badly to warrant them taking such life-threatening risks that are not worth it.

No woman has to alter anything about her natural endowment in other to look beautiful. All women are created beautiful, unique and ENOUGH in their own way.

Dear woman, if you have ever been body shamed, I want you to know and understand that it is not your fault. You are beautiful just the way you are.

Embrace and accept you. You are light and love itself. And that is what the post pandemic world needs.

Dear Hawwah,
Thank you very much for your story. Indeed we are all fearfully and wonderfully made despite our different shapes and sizes. No woman should ever have to feel less. I am embracing my body with confidence. Thank you for the great advise.

Dear Charlene,
No one should have to feel less. I thing we need to be reminding ourselves and each other of this regularly. The level of body shaming is appalling.
We cannot afford to continue to look on while women's self confidence is being ripped off daily.
In love and sisterhood,
Hawwah

Dear Hawwah,
Yes! Men have been taught to judge, and we have been taught to find mistakes with our own bodies. First I read your words and am so glad that you have brought this discussion into the open. Then I watched your video and Wow!!! So powerful, so true. As women the training not to love ourselves as we are runs deep. Your message opens the door wide for us all to love ourselves exactly as we are. You are such a great speaker and leader.
Big hug,
Tam

Your words are wise. Our cultures have made it hard for us to see ourselves as "enough", when actually, we are more than enough!

Yes Beth, we are more than enough.
I love culture, but not all culture is healthy especially for women.
We must learn to discard toxic culture.
Only healthy and beneficial cultural practices should be respected.

Hello Hawwa,
This story is sad and empowering at the same time. It's true, women don't have to do anything to their bodies to conform to what society has set as beauty standards. We are all UNIQUE and ENOUGH in our own skin.

Thank you for reminding us that!!!

Love,
Saum

Dear Saum,
You are beautiful and enough in your own skin.
Tell it to the world, over and over again until they get it.
Lots of love.

Dear Hawwah,
Thank you for reminding us all that classification of beauty is still part of being enslaved to make ideals. It is unfortunate indeed. Let every woman hear your battle cry....against beauty stereotypes and towards embracing our curves and edges with solid joy and zero apologies! After all, the body is simply a temprary shell housing our beautiful souls.
