My name is Hideko Nagashima and I thank the privilege to teach Japanese to non-Japanese people today as an organization called SWACIA located in New York. Let me explain how it started. In 2014, I established NGO called Support Women and Children in Africa (SWACIA) and raised fund and sent journal to donors and supporters in Japan informing them about violence against women and children in Nigeria. Then we were invited by Japan embassy in Nigeria in 2016, there we formed Japanese language course as part of future vocational training in elementary school. Japanese language became very popular among 150 pupils. In the following year, we had honor receiving fund from Japan foundation to edit the textbooks. Today, our company established an office in New York. Most of my writing on World Pulse discusses the predicament of women and children in Nigeria. Hope you enjoy reading!
