I think that you would have to post it here deliberately, not sure there is a way to link to different fora. I would suggest copy paste in both your journal and this group.

That said, I have been thinking a lot about this bill as have many Ugandans. I like that you focus on how long it has taken for them to pay attention considering this bill was researched and drafted a long time ago. But I suppose we just say "about time" and push for results. This should probably make us look at what else is not being discussed that could further the gender equality fight in the right direction.

The other thing about this bill that I have been thinking about that has not quite been addressed by anyone, and I wonder what you all think. My sister said, "Everyone is going crazy about the property clause, but no one is discussing the liabilities." She said the rich men have as much in assets as they did in loans, mortgages, debts to friends, etc. Is the woman socially and economically in position to split all this? Or are we then going to seek favor with the courts to get just assets and none of the liabilities? I personally think that the Bill is great and we can take the mortgage, but we ought to then challenge ourselves to be more financially stable and more involved in economic decisions. (He shouldn't mortgage a house we built together without your involvement).
