WOMEN'S VOICE

One  evening  while  I was from  work  way back in 2019  , I met   this  man who used to be  a client  at the law firm that I work for  in  Kampala  the capital  city of Uganda  .  Having  known him  for  some good time  , I looked at him  as a  responsible  gentleman  and the fact that  he used  to meet my  boss  who  used to  handle  his  legal  work  ,I did respect  him because  I saw  someone  influential  then  . Little  did I  know that the person I respected  was  a monster . So  , on that  fateful  evening  as  I was on my way home  , he stopped his  car and  gave  me  a drive  as he told me  he would  drop me  somewhere that was close to my home  and  then I would  connect  home not  knowing  his  evil  intentions  . So as  he drove , we nearly  reached where  he  was supposed to  drop  me  but then he started acting weird , trying to  molest  me   which I couldn't  stand , then I  told him to stop the car  and all he  did was  to  instead  increase the  speed  whereby  we  even  passed  where he was supposed to drop me  .  In a  few seconds , this man turned into  a monster  , I couldn't understand him  anymore .  On seeing  his  attitude ,  I  tried  to  open the door  where so that I could  just  take  off  cause my heart was  beating hard  , I was so nervous , and  I knew if I stayed in his  car  he would  rape me , unfortunately  he  had  locked  up  everywhere . Then  I asked him to open for me but he  was  so  abusive  and  he started threatening  me  of  how  he  would  end  my life if  I didn't shut up. For the time  I had  known him  , I had  never  known  he was  even in the security forces , there and then  I saw him  pull  out  his pistol  and he started praising  himself of  how  he was going  to use me  and that no one would save me from an  officer with  a high  rank  . I saw  tears  flowing out  of my eyes  , so scared  and my first worry  that came  into my  mind was  this  monster infecting me with HIV. However  , though  I was in too much fear  , I  still  prayed silently to  God  to save me  from  this evil man. So as it was getting  dark ,  he  lowered  the  car seat  for  him to  sexually abuse  me and threatened me if he  ever  finds out that  I told  anyone  , he  would ruin my reputation at  my workplace  and would even make me lose my job cause he was so close to my boss but  luckily enough  his phone  rung so  he concentrated on his  call  as he had  unlocked  the  car , so  as he  spoke on phone  , I  felt some voice telling  me to  extend  near  the door  so that I could  take off  but again I  remembered that he  would become furious  and  shoot me .  One  thing  I can  tell  you  ladies  out  there  , there is  nothing  God  can't do ,  He actually  saved me  from this  monster  , in that  process  as he  was still  on phone  I  saw  a  motorcycle  coming  close to  where he had  parked the car  , remember  I had checked  the  door  was not  locked so  I moved out  of the car slowly  and stopped this  motorcyclist  , never told him  where I was heading but  I  only told him to set off  , and as we were  leaving  this  evil man  noticed  but we were already at a distance.  So  , I narrated the whole story to this  man as  he rode me  but  he advised me to go  to  police  and  I told  him  how this  man had  threatened to ruin my reputation  and  more still  ,  reporting such cases  without evidence  would  not help me  especially with our  police  .  I  know  out there  , so many  women and young girls are passing through what I faced  and some end up being  raped  but  because of the fear  to speak out  , they end  up  having unwanted pregnancies  , diseases  , psychological torture, and  I really thank  world pulse for  putting up  something  beautiful for us where we can raise our voices and I  believe together we can help  the victims  .   ##   ''Stop  violence  against   young girls  and women\" .
