UPDATE

Dear all,

It's been a while I have posted any updates, so here I am.

Happy to announce that the petition I had made to the WCD Ministry in India, has picked up enough steam and engaged the Minister, and the NCPCR to look into necessary preventive steps for CSA in India.

For those of you who have not yet seen my petition here it is. Please sign and share.

My Photo Campaign 'End The Isolation' is now entering its Phase 2 in which we will be shining the light on female survivors of CSA, who have triumphed in spite of the trauma faced as children.

Am also very happy to announce that this month I received the 'Women with Wings' Award for my work on CSA and FGM in India. I am obviously elated to receive such an honour.

I have also been awarded a fully funded fellowship from Change.Org to bring out more campaigns like the recent ones.

All in all it has been a good few months, and I hope it has been the same with all of you.

Thank You!

Let your Light Shine :)

Hi Insia. Thanks for your update. That's awesome that your petition was recognized. Do you have a link for your photo campaign? Congrats on your "Women With Wings" award:-) I didn't know Change.org did that. That's very cool. Keep up the good work, as I know you will:-) Looking forward to more updates.

Hi Jill thanks for the wishes. You will find my photo campaign at endtheisolation.wordpress.com or on the same page on Facebook .

The women have Wings award is separate from the change.org award . I basically got two awards

Thanks  a lot Maeann. I wish for that too. Changing Mindsets is the only way we will be able to do away with so many issues plaguing societies for generations.

I agree. That is why it is important to bring awareness and education to women so that they will know their rights to the society.  Thank you.

Dear Insia,

This is really good news that the information about men abusing boys is finally getting to be known. The pressure of men not to mention the abuse they have suffered is I believe a big piece of the reason why men have been reluctant to speak out about abuse generally. This is a step forward thanks to your work.

In sisterhood,

Tam

Dear Tam,

Thank you for the encouragement. You are so right. Surprisingly, though in my line of work, I am also lately noticing many women abusing young boys sexually.

Hi Insia,

I wondered if that was also taking place. Sorry to learn that it is. We need to get the message across that all forms of sexual abuse are forms of control that should never happen. Glad to know you are there shedding light on all of it.
