Love speaks a universal language—what's yours?

Hello my World Pulse sisters,

Over the past five years I have been reading your journals, celebrating in your achievements, shedding tears for your pain and standing in awe and admiration for your unwavering courage to speak your truths and march a new world forward for women, our families and our communities, at home and together across the oceans and mountains.

I draw much strength, inspiration, knowledge and love from this community. Which is why I am turning to you all today as I prepare for a very important milestone in my life—my wedding.

I am marrying my love, Benjamin, this August. Surrounded by our families and loved ones we will proclaim our love to the world, and commit ourselves to one another as we build a life and family together as partners. We are marrying in our church, our temple—mother nature—and a dear friend is officiating the ceremony.

As we are piecing together the verses, I can't help but think of my World Pulse sisters and wonder what words, poems, or scriptures define love and marriage for you. I am always struck by the beauty of love poems that I've read here from friends in Nigeria, in Kashmir, in Afghanistan—revealing feelings or intentions that I have never before had words to express.

So I ask you to share with me your favorite verses—either those you have authored yourself or borrowed from your culture. I hope to draw inspiration from the language of love from your hearts, in your words, as I define mine.
