AN UNPRECEDENTED VOYAGE

I , and couple of friends went on a trip to the Araku Valley in Vishakapatnamatnam, India. The nature's bounty has left us amused and as a part of the trip we happened to visit the tribal villages to explore their culture and socio-economic features. We had a good interactive session with the tribals and in between the  conversation we asked many questions about their lifestyle and came to know about the sad truth that they haven't yet heard of sanitary napkins and menstrual hygeine. I thought this thing needs to be addressed immediately and we all mustered up energy then and there to create an awareness programme. We talked and convinced to the tribals and managed them to sit for the awareness campaign, I have used one of my friend's laptop and showed some videos and pictures about menstrual hygeine and the consequences of its negligence. I showed them a basic tutorial regarding the proper usage of the sanitary napkins and it's disposal. I could clearly sense the excitement in the faces of the innocent teen girls and young ladies. We have arranged few sanitary napkin packs to each of them to make a little bit change in their lives and the best part is when I happened to visit that place after an year, I thought of to know the well- being of the tribals and gladly they are using sanitary napkins and following menstrual hygeine. This left contentment in my soul.
