The Nightmare

I howled in agony

I crawled for escape

I wrecked for attention

I was collapsed by the sight

The sight of horrific carnage

I was drenched in the flood

The flood of human blood

Still—I heard those cries with gunshot

I smelled those slashed flesh with sharp blades

I felt those rapid hearts beats with enormous terror

I touched those warm limbs left with amputated

became breathless

soulless

still—on the edge of deathbed

In the well of warm blood

I had faith in you

In your humanity

But you froze me with your coldness

You trod on my faith with your hostility

You drained me dry with your viciousness

Still—I could not believe what I witnessed

All I wish to believe now

Is that I just had a nightmare

The nightmare of human massacre

Dear Jampa, Your heart might be in despair but having expressed your feelings eloquently, I hope that you be restored soon and find solace that the space you granted for yourself and your readers is in unison with the global outrage against these brutal crimes against humanity. Blessings your way,

Your poem is so moving, so powerful, so eloquent and so heartbreaking. You gave this "human massacre" the exactly right description...it IS a nightmare, beyond belief. My heart aches for the people of the world who have experienced such tragedy and especially, now, the people of Pakistan as they grieve.

You are in my thoughts, dear sister!!!

In love and peace, Terry
