I have always, first and foremost, been passionate about stories. I believe in the power of stories to connect people and to spark change.
I am an avid reader. I worked previously as a journalist, helping to tell people's stories. Now I do that through research. I am currently working on my PhD in Communication at Purdue University. My emphasis is in organizing, new media, and social change, with particular interests in gender and participatory methodologies. I am also a researcher with the Purdue Peace Project, a locally led peacebuilding initiative with projects in West Africa and Central America. Through this project, I travel to Ghana regularly to work with colleagues and local communities to help prevent political violence.
*I am currently conducting a research project with World Pulse for my dissertation. The current phase of this project includes observing the World Pulse community in action, conducting interviews, and analyzing documents. If you have questions or concerns or you would just like to find out more, please feel free to send me a message.
