MY WINDOW TO THE WORLD

The evolution of the world wide web from a static, non interactive platform to universal community  which allows participation, interaction, access to and control of information has greatly enhanced digital communication. Web 2.0 has enabled people from different countries, backgrounds and race share ideas, deliberate and improve on concepts.

 What excites me about the web 2.0 is its ability to allow simultaneous, nonstop interaction between people in different locations at the same time this is highly fascinating,the immediacy of feedback helps in engaging people in a discussion, unlike  the traditional media which doesn't provide an avenue for discussion with viewers, or opportunity for viewers to express their own opinion.Digital communication and the web2.0 is a force to reckon with, as it has broken geographical barriers and has enabled the convergence of great minds and the exchange of information. It is no lie that the web2.0 now pose a threat to government and politics, it brings to bare events as the happen with the emergence of citizens journalists around the globe,pictures and videos of events are uploaded on the go.

 Women empowerment movement has taken a new turn since the advent of the new media and the web 2.0, women are now aware of happenings in other countries, they learn about the achievements of other women and can equally serve as mentors to each other.
 Women empowerment seeks to accomplish economic empowerment for women the web 2.0 is being used by a lot of women for business purposes, this eliminates the stress of trying to loan money to get an office space and pay for other logistics.

Women have been able to learn and acquire skills by using the web 2.0, and even obtain degrees while taking care of the children and working alongside.
The web 2.0 has also provided a lot of women with a platform for employment, women are now employed to work online by certain organizations who need their services.
Ultimately the web 2.0 has given women all over the world a channel to express themselves,be it a video, a picture or literature, any woman can be heard by a great number of people whenever she speaks.Women can now speak with one voice.

 I am more aware of happenings around the world and I can ask questions and interact with other people, i am able to contribute positively to the society, by comments i make, posts i put up and suggestions i make ,web 2.0 equips  me with information which increases my confidence level, it presents a lot of opportunities education and employment wise. And serves as a networking platform where I can share certain visions, ideas and experience with people who share similar passions as mine. The web 2.0 does not allow for ignorance in modern day.
