My Girls

Jean Forbes

I gave birth to boys. All through their growing years people would say "don't you want a girl?" and I would answer "the Creator knows what he is doing." As my boys grew into the amazing men they have become I have no regrets. Their father and I taught them that there was no such thing as women's work, and that they had to love and respect women, and help each woman they came in contact with to strive for their vision, whether or not it coincided with theirs.

Fast forward to the days they brought me the amazing women they wanted to marry, as my youngest said, "I have brought you your daughter." Not flesh of my flesh, but children of my heart. The Creator did know best, I think as they work on their marriages, and give me grand daughters who accept their femininity, yet do not let it or anyone limit them. These daughters of the future are a joy as they challenge the world. And as I celebrate them, and their beautiful wonderful mothers, I can say with joy, the Creator knows best.

So all the girls who touch my life and these include my nieces and grand nieces, on the day of the girl I celebrate you

Dear Aunty Jean,
This is so beautiful a piece. Yes the creator does knows what He is doing. It break my heart when parents turn to demand for the sex of their kids OMG.
I once has a neighbor who have 5 boys but desperately seeking and girl she got pregnant but that child turn to be a boy haha.
We can be smarter that our creator. We just have to make good use of what we got. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.

Hello, sister Jean,

What a beautiful post this is! It resonates so much with me because I have two boys, too. They're both still so young. It gives me hope that one day when they marry, I will have a daughter, and hopefully granddaughters, too. I celebrate the girls in your life, too.

Thank you for sharing!

Hello Jean
Children are a blessing from God and don't have any right to question him about any sex that he gives us
We have to use them the way children are to be used.
You have done a great job by making your boys do what girls are doing .
Thank you very much dear for sharing for l know of women who lost their lives in the labor room because of a particular sex that they needed.
Have a blessed day sister.

I have shivers. Your story shows us how the future of humanity can unfold if we love and teach our boys to honor the sacredness of women. More love and abundance is the result!

Dear Jean
Your story gives me such hope. Because of you and your husband there are young men who understand the importance of the role of men in creating an equal society, with women given true respect. My mother and father taught my 5 brothers the same. My life would have been so different. What beautiful parents you are.

Dear Jean,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so happy and grateful for your parenthood. Keep inspiring to others. If boys are well-taught for respecting women and girls, there will be no single violence and discrimination against girls and women. Good work my friend, keep it up.
