These Divided States of America ...democracy restored!

We retreated and huddled with ourselves in isolation, in solitude, with our own, and always with our like minded people. I had no desire to share with anyone other than a person who "gets it" with a guarantee. No time or desire to teach, debate or dispute. The concept and the institution of democracy was being threatened.

This election brought out a fear amongst the masses.  We feared the continuation of ignorance, amplified racism, civil unrest and division, economic failure and a raging pandemic. There has been a division of families and friends that created a "walk on eggs", and politically correct conversations, just so you can come out with your family and circle of friends intact. The concept of democracy hung in the balance. For the first time in my adult life, my American life, I pondered what other country could I live in?  Our democracy was being threatened. We feared four more years of the opposing party relishing in and repeating the awful histories that made America famous, but not great.

Today is a prideful and moving moment. Today we elected a new president. We have hope and a man who is steeped in the ways of politics, government and history who represents all Americans.  He's not a corrupt businessman, reality show star and narcissist that doesn't read, or play well with the other kids. We have a vice president that is a Black Asian woman who is also steeped in politics, decision making and leadership. Not a "yes man" who is insignificant at best.  We now have leaders that know the ropes, the terrain and are educated and experienced.

We still have 73 days left with the current administration. Will there be retribution? A man who does not lose well has lost. The Electoral College votes were an unquestionable contrast. This current sitting president is too self conceited to concede.  We have a stimulus program that is pending. For many Americans it will make a huge economic difference in their challenged lives. Will he punish us by not passing the bill?  We have no healthcare plan, no Coronavirus Pandemic plan.  We only have a knee jerk reaction that is not sustainable.

We have hope.  With hope there is possibility.  We can look forward to our neighbors being our friends again, locally and globally. We have been, for the past four years, the Divided States of America. We look forward to being the United States of America.

The simple miracle that happened, while we cheered with relief and hope of our democracy being strong and surviving a worsening tyranny, is that in Los Angeles it poured rain!  We have a new president and it rained.  God is great!

Thank you Tamarack. I'm in LA, but I can hear the ladies from Canada loud and clear. We are also very proud. We are continental sisters and kindred spirits. And we need your cheering to drown out our many issues so the wonder is not overshadowed or quieted. So thank you sisters!

Greetings Sis JoMarie,
Yes I Get it! Definitely on Point! United States is nothing but divided, unfortunately many whom are NOT Americans or have lived in the USA for some time will not know nor believe your story because they have NEVER walked/lived in the experience of shoes of millions of Americans. It's clear we are not debating and thanks for freedom of true expression where in many foreign territories you can be jailed, worse killed!
The irresponsible tyrant has been defeated and also a very sore looser and needs to be evicted immediately!!!
Your Story is filled with HOPE and it is a Joy to read it here.
United WE Stand, Divided we all fall. Let's Unite and win. Onward dear Sis.
Cheers and kiss you, xo!

My Dearest Sister Queen,
You know what it means to put a fist up and yell "power to the people". We have shouted it out together before, and know what it really means, to have it and not have it. So sister we shout again together, "power to the people!"
Right on!
Massive hugz XO...JoMarie ;-)

Well said jomarie, we celebrate with you sisters. The past four years has been like a decade with this kind of leadership. There is another hope of seeing the great United States of America again. I just love the democracy that you guys have. I know this election it was not easy but finally you got leaders who deserve to lead a great nation once again.

Even the great guides disappear into the desert to reshape the story moving forward. Yay, rain in the desert so very appreciated. Is America back? We hope so as the many levels of crisis are mounting: Pandemic, Climate, Economic, Financial, Mental Health, Survival, Social Justice, Immigration...As I write this we are down to 54 days til the new administration. May peace prevail!
