Hair Love, an Oscar®-winning animated short film, Sony Pictures Animation by Matthew A. Cherry

Please enjoy this heartfelt story of an African American father learning to do his daughter’s hair for the first time.

This is a short about family support coming full circle in times of need and times of change. The crisis is hair.

The little daughter needs her hair done. Well, every Black woman knows that we are all about method. But Mom is not around and Dad is left to his own devices. He tries his best.

Baby girl is not happy with Dad's best. So she gets her mother's tablet, and shows him the blog that her mother made on how to do little girl's hair.

Dad follows instructions, and voila! Baby girl is beautiful and ready to go.

Go where? Dad and baby girl go to visit Mom. And Mom is amazed at her daughter's hair looking so beautiful.

The minor shock to baby girl is that her mother is bald. Probably from chemo.

Mom used baby girl to make a blog. Mom helped Dad by making the blog. Baby girl helped Dad by showing him the blog.

Dad made baby girl look fabulous. Dad brings baby girl to visit mom and support her in the hospital.

The entire family is together supporting each other.  Support is layered ,tiered and full circle.

Sometimes this can be real life. Sometimes it could never be.

But this is an entertaining and sweet  example to share with your family of all ages. Share with them the possibilities.

Teach kids while they are kids. And it's never too late for us big kids to learn as well.

I love this video because the father is very humbled by his baby daughter's need for his help. And she helped him to help her. Everyone in their family needs each other. Glad you enjoyed it. So glad you stopped by Joshua.

Yeah, "The entire family is together supporting each other. Support is layered ,tiered and full circle." This is very profound.

This video made me cry.Haha. Probably because it hit close to home of a family member succumbing to pancreatic cancer even after chemo.

The video is so touching. The cat is funny! The fight between the dad and the hair is funny, too. Every second of the video is adorable, so many take-aways, and yes, that includes your message of family coming full circle. Thank you for sharing this with us, JoMarie. What a lovely way of raising awareness about the African-American or African's crown of glory. I'm really in awe at the creativity of African women on how they wear their hair.

African-Americans "AND" Africans, not "OR", enjoy amazing crowns of glory. We are all very proud of who we are, and where we are from. Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed sister.

You're welcome, my sister. I am one of the admirers of your crown of glory and how you are creative with it. :) Yes, "AND".
