January 19, 2021: Cathedral Bell Tolling for 400,000 COVID Deaths.....https://www.youtube.com/embed/CdWJBFdcep8

Covid-19 Bell Toll at the Washington National Cathedral will mark the 400,000 U.S. lives lost to COVID-19 by tolling the Bourdon Bell.

The bell tolls 400 times, once for every thousand lives lost.

Use this as a mediation, quiet space and prayer space.

It's 38:00 minutes of one cathedral bell tolling. And the marvelous film of the installation of The Doves.

Be peaceful. Be hopeful. Be safe.

Dear JoMarie,
Against the backdrop of black, the doves really do paint a picture of light and of hope. To consider the mammoth task of creating and installing the doves, and the care and patience in the face of such a micro-process task infuses one with the indefatigable spirit with which we go forth, against despair and the creeping darkness in various facets of life. I think that the most beautiful aspect of it is that the doves are unaware and unnerved by the void that surrounds them, and highlights them. I hope that like them, many Americans and others around the globe who've experienced the fear filled loss that they represent will find the strength to stand in the void, and love and mourn without letting the void consume them. It is a bitter-sweet imagery.
Thank you for sharing. I am still marveling at all that effort!
I'm sending fresh hugs because I think the ones I send recently must have cooled down considerably by now ;-)

Dearest Nini,
Your words bring warmth to solemn beauty. Thank you so much for using your beautiful poetic paintbrush to frame the moment. It's always a pleasure.
Thanks for the visit and the hugs!
Love ya...JoMarie

Wow, 400,000 deaths. That is heartbreaking. That is a lot of lives lost considering one life is too important.
I hope that bell tolling would bring comfort to the bereaved families. Probably, or probably not. We all grieve differently.
Please stay safe there, dear JoMarie. I pray that there will be no more deaths to come.

Pray for the world. Covid 19 is not done. And the world is very complacent. We are proof. But not enough proof for people to take heed.

Yes, love. So many lessons to learn from this pandemic.

Dear JoMarie,
Thank you for this. I found it soothing for my heart stop for a moment and take in this music of the bells with the doves. So important that we stop from time to time to rest, and also to take time to honour those who have died.

Thank you Tam for understanding this solemn beauty. It is so important to dedicate time to those who passed. And to those that have to live with it, and ourselves that are still breathing and safe. Nothing can be taken for granted now. And the bells remind us of this truth.
