I have a vision that can save us all...WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN!

A flag we can all salute
A flag we can all salute (1/1)

Here we are in the month of March 2021 and we are barely starting to emerge from a pandemic. The most marginalized population is unemployed and at risk of exposure to infection because women "take care of" and are "hands on" in the workplace.  So many of us are being forced to figure out a remote way of generating income. Women are at the forefront of starting online businesses. With children still at home, they must juggle home and income, whether steady or challenged, it is a new territory to reckon with.

There are still the challenges that never disappeared. And perhaps became elevated because the violators lost the audience that was calling them out. Opportunities to commit offenses became heightened. Discrimination, physical abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, spousal abuse, just to name a few. FGM is still alive and well, in developed and underdeveloped countries. And so many other offenses against women have been empowered instead of dissipated.  And then there is the elevated and unattended mental illness, physical neglect, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, starvation, under employment and unemployment.  Yes, we have our challenges to say the least.

Girl children are still being born throughout the world as second-class citizens. With mothers that have hopes and dreams for a better future for their daughters. And mothers that have been taught to only give her the hope of eternal slavery to a man and his family. She will train her to be a good servant.  There are mothers that make sure their daughters have what she could not have. And mothers that make sure their daughters will be mutilated and abused, like she was. There are mothers that seek education and will sell their belongings to pay school fees. There are mothers that sell their daughters.  And mothers that make sure their daughters will never read because it is useless for their future. We have mothers that will discourage their daughters from getting married because she needs education first. And we have mothers that will arrange marriage as soon as puberty arrives.  There is a great divide. All are women for women, but it depends on whose eyes you are looking through. The mother that supports a future of the greater good, or the mother that supports a future adhering to ethnic traditions of the past.

I am going to use creative license because I am an artist. I will create a vision for the greater good, in hopes that our sisters that support the abuses and transgressions of the past will be taught to put down their fists and blades against their daughters. And she will finally see that the sunshine does belong in her daughter's eyes, not just tears. My creative license forms a unity between the civilizations. A basic, coherent, peaceful, and productive walk, talk, day, night, eating, sleeping, working and being productive in peace with each other, will be the rule of the lands. It is going to require women supporting women.  A simple yet complex state of being, but please just humor me and stay on board.

I have a vision that women all over the world will have a common language, hope, love, desire for all of us to benefit, dream, learn, and be productive without the evil hindrances that we as women create for each other. Only then can we tackle the challenges of the discrimination that we suffer because of men. Our first enemy is not him. Our first enemy is ourselves. We hold ourselves back because women hold back women. Women hinder women from opportunities.  We fear, we loathe, we compete, and do negative acts to protect ourselves. Women sabotage each other as an artform. If we could somehow drink the "Kool Aid" like men do to support each other as a team, we would rule the world. We are not taught from childhood and enforced throughout life to be part of a team. We must somehow wiggle our way in and stake out our territory, and protect it, especially from another woman.

But please, humor me...I see that we as women can acknowledge a common salute, banner, icon, and symbol of unity. Because I am an artist, I see flags and banners with heart shaped icons on them. Because the heart is love, upside down looks like breasts and buttocks, an acknowledgement of feminine celebration, allegiance and vow to ourselves. And we are all connected as a worldwide sisterhood, of women supporting women.  Women supporting women is a vision that I have in my artistic mind, as I take creative license. I dream of our love for our sisterhood being so powerful, that it will force organizations, laws, traditions, rules, races, states, countries, governments to bend to our will, and to our needs to serve the greater good. Women are the majority inhabiting this world. Women spend the most money. Women head and/or manage most households, Women create the most energy. We support all economies. And most of all, we control the world population. Our power is immense. I have a vision of this momentum of positive female energy creating a tsunami, a tidal wave of goodness, wealth, warmth, and love, while building mighty civilizations, militaries, governments, economies, educational institutions and re-write constitutions. I see a gender that has failed the world, the gender of the present world dominance, and destruction having to answer to the gender of productivity, sensitivity, and reproduction.  Eventually positivity will become world dominance and so will peace. This is not impossible. But first, we must get out of our own way!

Thank you for humoring me.

Hugs...JoMarie

Dear Chidimma,
We desperately need to reach and awaken the sisters that do sleep well when their children, especially girls are not doing better. The task is daunting. But necessary.
So glad you stopped by sister.

Dear JoMarie,
What an important and powerful reminder that we have been taught as women not to trust each other and to work together. Yes, we need to continue to examine the ways we do this, and strengthen our trust, our bonds, our intentions for all women and girls to be free and safe from violence..

Little sister, sheepishly reporting to connect, you know why he hee :) I see now that no amount of talking can be too much between sisters who esteem each other!
I heartily laughed at the lover heart symbolism, oh how original you are, sis JoMarie! Your vision ignited my spirit and the fire is still burning within. It first of all burned off the debris of being distracted and took me back to story mode, and I feel pumped and charged afresh. Thank you for the spark, you never know what your story is going to accomplish in the one who read it!
I love the different ways mothers view their role, depending on whom or what has informed them. To hope for and envision a collective motherhood that distills into the protection and promotion of their daughters expands my being!
I love the contrast between the two genders in the last two paragraphs most, because of how you describe our gender. But with such a description it also made me wonder why it is difficult for us to play in a team preferring sabotage instead. I have been sitting with your story since I first read it, and will continue to mull over its gems and its various questions and calls to action.
And so it is clear, I am richer and empowered because you put fingers to keys and shared from your heart, thank you!
Happy women's day hugs and sparkles to you :)

Hey Sis,
I am so glad we both showed up. It's seems to be our way of synergy. Thank you for your dusting of sparkles. It feels good, and I am now relieved. I confess I have become a bit of a needy sister. You have afforded me that vulnerability safely. And I thank you for it. I hope that all of our sisters throughout the future generations can visualize that we can take responsibility for our progress. And no, the battle will not be pretty. But it is possible.
Massive hugs baby sis...JoMarie

Hi Shannon,
I'm so glad you stopped by to read the post! Women can be there for each other. It starts at the grassroots level. Two women at a time. And it can grow and spread, internationally and generationally. Look at you I. Perfect example.
