My name is Josiane IRAKIZA, 25 years old, I am from Africa, Rwanda, Eastern province, Ngoma ditrict. I am currently staying in Nairobi Kenya for IT professional Internship at an NGO called HIJRA (Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid). I hold a bachelors degree in computer engineering from my country at former Kigali Institute of science and technology (KIST). During my final year i developed i game called Kinyarwanda crosswords puzzle where i wanted to have something to entertain Rwandans in our mother tongue on machines, i have also developed a HIJRA IT user portal using spiceworks where it is used as IT website to help staff solve some problems for their selves and to learn. I have been always interested in digital systems, signals and networking and all about computer programming. I enjoy researching and many times traveling and see what is outside the Rwanda even if i have never get a chance to go overseas, what is going on in other countries and what should i do to get that technology and i really like reading new things about technology, trying to learn more about programming languages and sometimes my friends lough at me telling that those are men's things and jobs of being interested in ICT but when i show them what i did like a software or some design they all stay speechless. I will fight to burst what is inside of me, what I always want to do and show the country and the whole world that ICT is not for men, us women can also do many things and bring innovation and creativity in technology world than men. and finally to develop my country using new technology like the developed country. and i wish to get this opportunity to advance my career.

Hello Josiane,

Keep on your path of learning new programming and new technology and then using that knowledge to create new things like you did with the IT help portal or the crossword games. I am impressed at what you have accomplished! By developing these things and sharing them with the world, you are showing by example that women also have great and creative ideas to further improve computers and technology.

Wow Josiane, This is great news. You are one of the few who have taken technology to another level. You have done well for yourself and for your country. This will promote the culture in your country and also bring together the people in your country because they will enjoy and English game in their own language. This is so deep. Well done and continue with your hard work because is will definitely pay off.
