My name is Judith Debbie Kabango. Am a single lady born in 1987. Am the last born in the family of 8 children. I lost my Dad at the age of 12 years which made my Mother to raise us by herself to where we are today although she is a housewife.

Am a holder of Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from University of Malawi, Chancellor College. I work with Malawi Law Commission as a Senior Assistant Human Resource Management Officer since 2008. I was able to help my Mother financially to fund my education from Certificate level to Advanced Diploma level since l was employed at a tender age of 21 years old.

After finishing my Advanced Diploma, l was blessed enough to the extent that my employer was able to fund my tertiary education. It has always been my heart desire to proceed with my studies to a postgraduate level, but due to lack of finance and availability of scholarships, am stuck to where l am.

It is my heart desire to see myself being enrolled either in Masters in Human Resource Management or Masters in Public Administration. With me attaining one of this postgraduate level, l will be able to become one of the Women leaders in my country Malawi therefore, helping the Government in making and implementing public policies which will bring more benefits to Women since this gender is the most disadvanged one with alot of abuse and more cases of gender based violence.

Thank you,
Judith.

Get Involved

This offer will be essential in many ways. To start with, most men in leadership positions of policy making and implementation put aside policies which are beneficial to Men since the representation from Women who are leaders is very few. As such, once l become one of the leaders in public policy making and implementation in Malawi, l will be able to increase the number of Women influencers in policy making and implementation which will result in the making and implementation of public policies which will be beneficial to Women in Malawi as well.

Also, when l become a leader, it will be so easy to make a point in different communities that Women can also be leaders not only in the kitchen but also, in the society by helping in making a difference.

Therefore, through a success in either of the postgraduate programs l have indicated above, l will be able to tackle the need for public policies. This will help in that, by having the best knowledge in public policies like for example, a policy for land ownership, this policy is important in the way that, ownership of land will not barely be based on the thinking that, land ownership should only be for Men but also Women can own a land or many lands. As such, making the implemention of this land policy not to be based on gender.

Thank you,
Judith.
