Reaching Out

Reaching Out

When edges are blurred, light softens, distorting  memories, lying, creating new ones that never happened, never will

Reaching out, tentatively, a spider leaving  her dark, cosy hole two feet first, sensing danger, never quite knowing, willing to take a risk, her desire, her thirst, her compulsion

Loneliness and hunger  for more than this, even the strong will  feel these humiliating, treacherous hurts, knife wounds, deep, reaching out to release,  hot blade, fierce flesh,  feeling the cold rush in

Hello Julie,
Welcome to World Pulse. Thank you for sharing your poem. I really like the imagery of a spider leaving its web:)

Thank you Nini..I am glad you liked that part. Quite often we see their little legs popping out and then retreating if they sense danger. I like that they can do that too. Thank you

Welcome to World Pulse Julie, and congratulations on your first post!
I love this line of your poem:
'Reaching out, tentatively, a spider leaving her dark, cosy hole two feet first, sensing danger, never quite knowing, willing to take a risk'. It's such a vivid imagery of what taking risks can feel like at times.
Wonderfully written. I hope to see more of you around on here :)

Kike.
