Live Life Without Fear

"If we are too frightened to speak out, we can do nothing to promote freedom of speech. If we are too frightened to challenge injustices, we will not be able to defend our right to freedom of belief."

Greetings to all VOF applicants and congrats to all that were chosen for the Training programme.

I was send the following article titled, "Aung San Suu Kyi warns against paralysis of fear in Wallenberg Lecture"- http://www.ur.umich.edu/update/archives/111026/wallenberg

It reminded me of what PulseWire is all about - speaking out, knowing your rights and protecting the rights of others.

Happy reading :)

Thanks Juliette for sharing the article. Of the few people I really revere and follow, Suu Kyi is one (Gandhi and Mandela being the other two) - a symbol of courage and resistance. Its very sad that though I come from the state that neighbors Burma, I get to read about her from media in the west (the reason why media is important - you never know who's benefits and where)

I hope I can cultivate some of her (and also of Wallenberg - the Swedish architect) courage within me.

Thanks for sharing and to all those I have not managed to send personal messages congratulating you, my thoughts are with you. I am crossing worlds from Harare to Addis to Lome to Dakar to Banjul and now in Accra. it tends to be difficult getting internet in some of these places but I am happy you were all chosen and look forward to fruitful interactions.
