The killing of young women in Uganda

In the past two years, over 30 young women in Uganda have been abducted and then murdered. It is a sitution that has sent shock waves throughou the country, and petrified young women particularly in the capital city, Kampala.

As late as 28 August a 28 years-old NGO worker was kidnapped together with her driver. Their bodies were discovered a few days later.

Earlier this month another young woman and her driver were shot dead on a highway. The motives for these murderers remain elusive.

The police  has reportedly arrested some suspects and is doing everything possible to get to the root of this problem.

Please join me condemning these horrendous acts violence against women, expressing your sympathy for the families and friends of the murdered women, and in standing in solidarity with the women of Uganda who are living in fear for their lives.
