Facilitating Digital Changemaking

Conducting Digital Changemaking workshop for 9 Afghan girls, who are currently living and studying in American University of Central Asia, was unique in its own way and has opened my eyes differently to see better and understand more. All participants were young and going to be the future leaders of my country, Afghanistan. They came from different field of study such as; politics, software engineering, sociology, business, economics, and journalism. I believe that by joining World Pulse, using their online library/knowledge will contribute strongly in changing women’s situation in Afghanistan and beyond. Their active participation and answers to questions made the workshop very interesting and motivated me rightly. And here is a peace of their “I am from” poem:

I am from the past, present, and future - a bright future

A daughter of hope and effort

From a beautiful soul with black holes

From tears, but struggling to smile

I am from a dream of kindness

A world with no borders

Filled with peace and tranquility

I am from one of you, accept me, love me

It felt good to share my experience with other women and deliver the knowledge and skills that I have learnt from World Pulse and Advanced Digital Changemaking Training.

The insightful content of this presentation which is beautiful and motivating, the inspiring pictures and video of great women from different parts of the world was very exciting that one could feel the strong spirit of women and the beauty of women’s lives and also realize more the importance of women in our society.

I also understood that for delivering this presentation, one hour is not enough. I will probably plan it for two hours in my future workshops as this would help bring out more from participants and make the workshop more understandable and interesting.

Finally, I learnt that diversity of educational skills among women is very necessary and helpful all around universe. We need to have women in different fields in order to approach the issues from different angle and make change happen better and faster.
