FILLING THE CUP: Overcoming Depression

Depression is real, especially when you are raising kids with special needs. No one prepared mothers on this.

The special needs path can be a lonely, exhausting, and isolating journey for most, if not all, mothers.

I will be sharing about \"Overcoming Depression\" on our International Women's Day event this March 8, 2020.

As a woman who holds safe spaces for people, I listened to moms raising children with disabilities who feel depressed. Some are almost suicidal. I know what it is like. I have been there, too.

This session will be my opportunity to share my World Pulse story, and how I was able to process emotional healing by having a safe place to write my journey. I would like to highlight the importance of being heard and receiving encouragement.

There are already a lot of events celebrating women in our country since the Philippines is quite strong on Women Empowerment. March is National Celebration of Women's Month with a theme, \"We Make Work Change For Women.\"

I want to celebrate women who seemed to be left out due to the circumstances they have. That is why I am grateful that Ausome Mommies of Autism Family Support Group is partnering with me on this event. I feel my load is light with them around.

I am also thankful for my husband for his support by taking care of our children during his free time so I can prepare for this event.
