It is with great honor that I get to interview E.J. Alawode, one of the Top 10 Most Active Encouragers on World Pulse (2020). What a humble woman! In this interview she shares her journey on why she pursued masters in Europe, what she did while she was waiting for an available flight back to Nigeria, and why she went ALL-IN as an encourager on World Pulse!

Get to know this remarkable woman who dared to pursue a double master's degree in Europe!

Amidst the societal norms that women need to be confined with domestic duties, E.J. Alawode chooses to challenge the educational opportunities available for her. E.J. has recently earned a Master of Arts in International Communication (United Kingdom) and a Master of Social Sciences in Communication (Lithuania), bringing her in tune with current trends in the world of communication, especially digital communication and the new media for enhanced productivity.

For over a decade, though not concurrently, she was the image-maker and head of Public Relations Unit under the Vice-Chancellor’s Office at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria, now the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB) Directorate of Public Relations, She served as Deputy Registrar, McPherson University, Nigeria, on sabbatical, where she supported the pioneering efforts of the university management to establish a virile university, multitasking seamlessly between the Registry and Public Relations Division.

She was formerly a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, Nigeria. With years of diverse experience, with increased leadership skills in corporate communication and global media, fielding a strong background in higher education administration, human resources, and personnel management, E.J. is passionate about serving and giving back to society.

At present, she is a Fellow of the Orange Knowledge Programme of the Netherlands Universities Foundation for International Communication (NUFFIC), pursuing an Action-Learning Masters in Business Administration at the Business School, Netherlands.

She is also a member of reputable professional bodies like the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) and the Association of University Administrators (AUA), to mention a few. An alumna of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) of NUFFIC, aside from local Conferences, she has participated in international professional programmes in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Europe, Asia and her home continent, Africa.

Passionate about the empowerment of women and girls, E.J. is a Digital Ambassador on World Pulse, a global social network that empowers members to transform communities. She was recognized as one of the top 10 Most Active Encouragers on World Pulse
